By November 4th, VOTE FOR AGPS to keep our school district strong, competitive and thriving.

Our legislature recently placed a 3% cap on the funding school districts can pull from their property tax levy, disproportionately hurting districts like AG that already had very low levies. AG now faces a severe deficit that cannot be corrected through budget cuts alone.

As a result, we urge you to vote FOR exceeding the 3% cap on our general fund levy to ensure AG can retain outstanding teachers and continue offering the programs that make our schools thrive.

What is gained if the vote passes?

We keep existing teachers and can hire more as enrollment increases and new needs arise.

We continue to offer fine arts, athletic, and career programs that round out students’ education.

We replenish needed and recommended cash reserves while also addressing debt.

Strong schools build strong communities! Their health is intertwined. Let’s invest in both.

What is lost if it doesn’t pass?

Several hundred thousand dollars must be cut to make our district solvent. Exact cuts haven’t been determined, but all programs not required for accreditation are at risk including preschool; reading, math, behavior, and high-ability interventions; sports; fine arts; and career readiness clubs like FFA and FBLA.

Without the freedom to hire new teachers as our district grows or to pay fair wages, classrooms will grow over-crowded, straining our staff and harming outcomes.
